These pictures are backwards but this literally is how my baby came out... Wide eyed and ready to face this world. Right after he came out they put him on me and he was like this for about 10 min. just staring, no crying, looking at me and dad as we were talking and over-joyed at this sweet face. Then the nurse came to clean him up/measure him and he finally cried. But right after she did all that he was back to this...
Wide eyed, figuring out what was going on. He was like this until they took him to the nursery at 2:30 a.m. not once did he close his little eyes. It was so weird, the nurses kept saying I have never seen a newborn so alert. But I love his big eyes and can't get enough!
This was Gary's first moment holding him and look at little Bense just staring at him! Adorable!

This picture is also not glorious, but here I am right before we left for the hospital (I was started and had been crying that morning because they called and told us we were going to have to wait a couple hours and I really thought I wouldn't get in that day, but luckily they called back in about an hour and told us we could come up! Huge relief for a me!)

I do not look fabulous in these next pictures, but hey I just went through labor and the last 20 min (all of crowning and pushing him out) with my epidural worn off! I never want to go natural after experiencing that! Holy cow it was ouchy and I was screaming like I was in a movie. My mom was in the hall crying cause she didn't know what was going on and I was rather embarrassed that all my family and Gary's family heard that. But next time I will know that I absolutely should not feel my toes or be able to lift my legs up before we start to push!
