bIg chAnGe!!! (sorry about the novel)
For about the past year I've been really feeling I need a change in where I work. I absolutely love the girls I work with and have loved being able to do hair, but I have not loved working every other sunday, every saturday (which the rule is only one saturday off every 3 months), all the holidays and being opening 362 days a year. I feel like I've missed out on a lot of small moments, big moments and special times with my family and friends due to my job. It has been one of the hardest things for me to decide what to do. I love doing hair and love the girls, but hate the hours and do not like working for a big corporation, who made me feel like I should work as hard as possible for as little as possible. So with much prayer, fasting, temple going and support from my amazing husband I got the guts to really start looking for something new. I have some seriously wonderful friends who helped me decide that I should take a resume to the office where they worked. I was insanely nervous after I took a resume in1. Because it wasn't going to be doing hair
2. Because if you know me I prefer to be in a comfort zone and therefore get real nervous with change.
and 3. Because I just felt down right confused on what I wanted to do.
I took my resume in and had to wait just over a month to hear anything back. Well in this months time I continued to pray, think and ponder about all the possibilities. So after a month of this waiting and thinking, I was called and asked to come to a group interview. I went in for the interview and felt completely at peace with the change I felt was coming. I also felt the sheer thrill of excitement with this new opportunity. As I left the interview I had to keep telling myself, "calm down, don't get so excited." and the rest of the night I had to repeat it. Well the very next day (which was feeling like it was never going to end!!!! and I felt absolutely sick in wondering) I got the call in the late afternoon that they wanted to offer me the position. Another wave of peace and excitement (all in one) fell over me! I am now excited to say that I am going to be an Orthodontic Assistant for Dr. Sheldon Peck in Syracuse! This is going to be such a huge change in my life, but now with the peace I have felt and knowing this is a huge blessing and oppurtunity I am just so excited about this change. It will be tough, because I have never done anything in the dental world, but I am so lucky enough and blessed to work for a Dr. who will train me. I am definitely sad that I will be taking a break from hair for a little while and will miss the girls I work with now so very much! But I am now ready to embrace this change 100% and move forward in my life! Not to mention now working much better hours!
